Association: Businessmen see stronger competition in Russia

MOSCOW, Jun 13 (PRIME) -- The majority of small and medium sized businesses have registered stronger competition in Russia with some of them saying that it restricts their business, according to a poll of 500 businessmen from all regions of the country conducted by small and medium business association Opora Rossii and seen by PRIME on June 10.

The share of businessmen who saw stronger in competition in 2017 reached 63%, up 20 percentage points on the year. Only 4% of respondents registered lower competition in their sectors, up 2 percentage points on the year, according to the poll.

Every polled businessman noted stronger competition in veterinary services, while 82.3% of respondents said the same about crop farming, cattle breeding, and hunting industries, while improvement of competition in the advertisement industry was registered by 77.7% of respondents, in construction by 76.9%, and in retail by 73.5%, the poll read.

The competition situation affects business, and 27% of polled businessmen said that their businesses were not successful last year, 53% rated business development as average, and 8% of the businessmen failed to provide the estimate.
